I have a huge catalogue of photos, admittedly not all of them are great and only a fraction of them are on this site but I love to have them to look back on and learn from. Altogether I have around 30,000 photos. They vary massively in subject matter and style and I love to be able to see how I have developed over time.
My favourite photos I have taken are probably landscape and wildlife photos which just combine my favourite things. I hope eventually to be able to shoot for landscape documentaries and film. I have also relished branching out and getting out of comfort zone which my photography course has really pushed me to do. I love to experiment with movement and have really enjoyed trying to capture passing cars, horses and dancers. I think these frozen movement can really create a beautiful and striking aesthetic which is very difficult to master.
I addition to this I also like to capture people in a natural and unguarded manner much more so than in portrait form because I think it is so much more interesting. Two years ago I attended my cousin destination Indian wedding which was a terrific experience and not only gave me a chance to try and capture the sheer joy that everyone was feeling but also allowed me to experiment massively with colour.
I am currently using a Canon EOS 6D digital camera with a Canon 24-105mm f/4.OL IS USM AF Lens. This camera is by far the best one I have ever had the pleasure of using. Full disclosure, it is a very expensive camera and I am incredibly lucky to own one. The quality of the photos that the camera is able to produce is just unreal and the large zoom really allows me to experiment with taking more arty photos.
If I want to take incredibly high quality photos ad need to have a good zoom and to be able to capture things in low light then I prefer to use my Nikon D 500 for this kind of work because it has better functionality. It is precise and can adapt itself automatically to the light, and does so quickly and efficiently, which means it will make its own adjustments for a gradually changing light. I already have some experience in shooting photos which require these kind of settings, but would gradually like to gain even more was these tend to be the most challenging kind of shoots. I must admit as an aside that I do like using filters and playing around with the look of my photos in Photoshop, but I will always disclose if I have altered the lighting or colour of a particular place.
Anyway, that’s more than enough from me. I hope you enjoy browsing through my collection of photos!
